Mark Rober vs Veritasium is the science bout for November. On YouTube, when we checked on November 3, @MarkRober had 85.4M subscribers and @veritasium had 21.4M. Wikipedia puts Rober at 19.8 billion channel views as of November 1 and Veritasium at 4.6 billion as of October. A Netflix competition show that Rober hosts started in 2026, and in a 2026 TED talk he announced Class CrunchLabs, a free STEM program for schools. The card doesn't use any of that. Paste both handles on an Aura Duel card, read the gloves, and drop the /d/ link in the chat before someone says "obviously Rober" or "obviously Veritasium."
Qoks turns public creator signals into a fight ticket. It's a game. It won't check anyone's physics and it won't say who explains things better. The card answers a smaller question: whose YouTube aura is louder on the day you print?
Weigh-in: print the bout
- Open the prefilled card: @MarkRober vs @veritasium on YouTube.
- Check that both platform chips say YouTube. Use the main channels, not CrunchLabs, the second Veritasium channels or fan edits.
- Print. Each corner gets an overall aura and five glove scores out of 100.
- Share the
/d/link. Every ticket is stamped when it's printed, so a reprint after the next big upload can move.
Pick your corner before the card loads. Calling it after the numbers show up is a lab result you ordered after the experiment. If the whole group chat is in on it, the influencer debate game has rules for points and penalties.
The five gloves (Chaos and Consistency decide this one)
Subscribers aren't on the card. These are:
- Growth: who is climbing right now. More in growth aura.
- Engagement: whether people answer the posts. More in engagement aura.
- Consistency: who keeps posting on a steady beat. Watch this one second. More in consistency aura.
- Chaos: clip-and-send energy, the video that ends up in every group chat. Watch this one first. More in chaos aura.
- Loyalty: whether people stick around between viral hits. More in loyalty aura.
Why Chaos? Rober's biggest videos are built to be forwarded. According to Wikipedia, his December 2018 glitter-bomb package video got 25 million views in one day, and his first video in October 2011, a Halloween costume that made it look like he had a hole in his torso, got 1.5 million in one day. The 2020 backyard squirrel maze had 114 million views by September 2023. Veritasium chaos is quieter: a wind-powered car that goes faster than the wind, which led a UCLA physics professor to bet Muller $10,000 that it couldn't be done. Muller built a model cart to show it, and the professor paid up. Muller gave the money away as prizes for a science communication competition.
Why Consistency? On November 3, Veritasium's channel showed 546 videos and Rober's showed 276, so about two Veritasium uploads for every Rober one. Veritasium has also been running since 2011, so video count isn't the same as rhythm. Let the card read it.
One division worth doing by hand: Rober's 19.8 billion channel views over 276 videos is roughly 72 million views per video, and Veritasium's 4.6 billion over 546 is roughly 8 million. That's rough math from Wikipedia totals and channel-page video counts, and it isn't a glove, but it's a good reason to expect a Rober lead somewhere.
So: does Rober's 4x subscriber lead hold up once Veritasium's upload count gets scored? Your print will tell you.
Overall wins the bout. If the overalls tie, it's a draw unless the chat agreed on a tiebreak first (most gloves won is the usual one). Full scoring notes are in how to read an Aura Duel.
We aren't printing a Mark Rober vs Veritasium score in this post, and we aren't picking a winner. Your ticket decides.
The YouTube house card (how a ticket reads)
Neither science channel has a house poster yet. YouTube does: MrBeast vs MKBHD, the house main event on the YouTube rivalries card.
On that exhibition card (labeled sample / heuristic), MKBHD takes the bout 43–57. MKBHD wins Growth 47–68, Engagement 43–67 and Chaos 25–62. MrBeast wins Consistency 41–36 and Loyalty 50–45. Every number is from the live /d/ page, and the footer says "Admit one · not a real ranking."
What to take from it: MrBeast won two gloves, but each by only 5 points. MKBHD's three wins were by 21, 24 and 37. Narrow glove wins don't carry a YouTube bout. If Veritasium takes Consistency by a few points and Rober runs away with Chaos or Engagement, the overall goes Rober's way, and the reverse works too.
Those are MrBeast's and MKBHD's bars. They tell you nothing about Rober or Veritasium, so print the bout.

Why this pairing works
They're two engineers who took different roads to the same audience. Rober finished a mechanical engineering degree at BYU in 2004 and joined NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory the same year, spending nine years there, seven of them on the Curiosity rover. Muller finished engineering physics at Queen's University in 2004, then went to Australia and earned a PhD in physics education research at the University of Sydney in 2008. Rober's first video was in October 2011, and Veritasium started in 2011 too. Rober now runs CrunchLabs, which he founded in 2022 and which sells building-project subscription boxes. Veritasium's PFAS video, "How One Company Secretly Poisoned The Planet," won the 2025 AAAS Kavli Science Journalism Gold Award.
They also pitch differently. Rober's videos are builds, pranks and escape-room-style challenges. Wikipedia describes Veritasium as addressing counter-intuitive concepts, often by asking members of the public what they think first. One is a prank engineer, the other is a myth-buster. Who is more popular explains why the card reads signals, not headcount, and how to compare two influencers covers comparing any two accounts by hand.

Roast the bars, not the people
Keep it on the card. Tease a low Consistency bar or brag about a big Chaos number. Leave private lives and old internet-drama threads out of it, and don't post a losing ticket in either creator's comments. House rules: Aura Duel is a roast, not hate.
